The Adventures Of Shirley Holmes

Premiered In: 1997 Status: Wish-List
4 Seasons, 30 Minute Episodes

Notes:

Meredith Henderson stars as Shirley, a 2nd generation descendant of Sherlock Holmes, which is ironic, considering that Mycroft was Sherlock's only brother, who was a high ranking official in the British government, probably single and in some interpretations, he has been gay, or at least as asexual as his brother. Nonetheless, this series, which was aimed at adolescents features Shirley as a smart young girl who solves crimes with great skill.

The Rivals Of Sherlock Holmes

2 Seasons, 60 Minute Episodes
the-rivals-of-sherlock-holmes.jpg

Notes:

This series really has very little to do with Sherlock Holmes, beyond the name. Each of the 26 episodes are independent mysteries that feature detectives successfully solving cases in Victorian England. While the detectives are all contemporaries of Sherlock, they have no direct relationship to him. Basically, this show is a nod to a number of great writers and stories that exist outside of the mythos of Sherlock Holmes.
